My name is Sam Hyder, and I am a Gong Practitioner (The College of Sound Healing, Sheila Whittaker) and a registered Craniosacral Therapist (The College of Craniosacral Therapy). I am also the Registrar of my member body (The Craniosacral Therapy Association), which is a charitable member organisation.
I hold regular twice monthly group Gong Baths, and quarterly Freely Given Sessions (based on the Dharma principle of giving freely), in Chesham and the South Buckinghamshire area, as well as other sound and energy workshops, using crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, drum and voice, crystals, colour therapy, vibrational essences and more. I also provide 1-2-1 sessions at my home.
I have a varied background in many modalities, and I am also qualified in Reflexology, Reiki II, Angelic Reiki (Master), Light Body Healing and Light Path Clearing (using crystals). I have also undertaken 2 years of crystal healing and a further 2 years in Subtle Energy Medicine (combining crystal healing and energy healing), Shamanism (I work extensively with bird medicine and animal totems), Shiatsu, Somatic Experiencing (trauma therapy), Paediatric Craniosacral Therapy (covering baby body language and trauma), Hypnobirthing, Gong Fu Cha Tea Ceremony and Incense Making. I regularly make and use my own vibrational essences in my work.
I have worked intuitively with sound for many years, using drum, voice and singing bowls. I have also benefited on a personal level from many forms of sound healing, my own craniosacral therapist uses sound in our sessions and I have had regular gong baths for the past 10 years, I have also worked 1-2-1 with Chloe Goodchild to discover my own ‘naked voice’.
My own experiences have led me to develop a profound interest in the human psyche and how we live with trauma and stress, and I find sound therapy, particularly with gongs extremely beneficial and something that has been invaluable in supporting my own journey for many years.
I am totally in love with the gongs, and I am currently working with my 38” Sedna, 36” Pluto, 32” Mercury, 32” Chiron, 32” Earth Sound Creation and 22” Symphonic Paiste Gongs, along with my 36” Meinl Wu Xing and 20” Tuned Sun and 20” Wind Chinese gongs. Each one brings their own personality and space for personal growth. Whenever a new gong comes into the family, I spend a great deal of time ‘getting to know them’. I also work with a full set of crystal singing bowls and many other amazing sound tools, amongst which are the pair of small bronze and brass singing bowls that my husband and I made a few years ago.
I take part in the organisation and delivery of the Chesham Gong SoundSmith course in Buckinghamshire.
